Resetting the password
To reset the password, follow these steps:
This procedure is only necessary in case the initially set password is forgotten and needs to be reset.
- Do either of the following:
- Power reset the camera.
- Close the browser.
NoteEnsure that the PC can access the internet and send e-mails. Connect the PC to the same LAN as the Camera and ensure that the IP configuration matches with the LAN.
- Open the browser on the PC and input the IP address of the camera to access the login page. NoteThe login window appears.
The default IP address is 192.168.1.168.
- Select Reset button to activate the password reset procedure.
- Do the following:
- Enter admin in the Username field.
- Select the Get Key button. A key string is generated, as shown in the image below.
NoteThe Get Key string is available only once and is randomly generated by the system. It generates a different string everytime the Get Key button is selected. Do not close the browser in the background to ensure that the procedure is not interrupted.
- Copy the generated key string.
- Create a new e-mail message with the details:Note
The browser should stay open and connected to the login interface the entire time.
- Enter Camera password reset in the Subject line.
- Enter the copied key string in the message body.
- Send the message to services@vtc-tw.com.tw.
NoteUse separate e-mails for multiple password reset requests. Send the e-mail request between 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
NoteCustomer support will decode this value and send back the password string.
- Once the password string is received from the customer support, enter the password string in its corresponding field, and then select Reset.Note
The Password string is based on the Get Key string and cannot be mixed with a different Get Key string. Ensure to copy the crrect password string from its corresponding Get Key string e-mail request.
- Enter the default login credentials.
Username: admin
Password: 123456
- Log into the account and update the password.
