Step 9: Verify NCR 7879 is Operational
When power is applied to the NCR 7879, the Scan Doctor software checks many of the scanner/scale components. If an error occurs during the Power-On Wellness Check, the NCR RealScan™ 25 Remote Compact Display (if the unit has one) displays an error code, and if enabled, the NCR 7879 emits an audible description of the error and what action to take. There may be some simple steps that can be performed to correct the problem (refer to Troubleshooting for more information). If the problem cannot be corrected, contact the maintenance provider for warranty and service information.
NCR 7879 Scanner-Only Startup
The Power-On Wellness Check diagnostics run when power is first applied to the NCR 7879. During this time the Scan Advisor indicates this status with a Left And Right Side Bar that is Solid White. As Power‑On Wellness Check ends its routines, the Scan Advisor indicates this status by momentarily turning all Lights On Solid White. Then, as the NCR 7879 becomes operational all the Scan Advisor identifies the present status, which normally is Idle and Enabled.
