Programming

Programming Description

The NCR 7879 can be programmed to meet most installation requirements. This includes communications with the host terminal and various NCR 7879 features and functions.

Programming the NCR 7879 consists of setting programming parameters to match specific requirements. This manual programming is accomplished by scanning a specific sequence of programming tags. The factory sets most programming parameters to default values or values originally specified. In most new installations, few, if any, programming changes need to be made.

The NCR 7879 can also be remotely programed through the host terminal with no local intervention. This requires special host terminal software that must be purchased from NCR. Only the manual programming is described in this section.
