NCR RealScan Scanner Flash Drive Prep Tool

In order to minimize the need for a PC at the scanner site, The Flash Drive Prep Tool prepares a flash drive so that a NCR 7879 can understand its contents and perform the tasks defined in the flash drive. This flash drive is then installed in each NCR 7879 to upgrade the scanner according to the information in the flash drive.

Information loaded on the USB Flash Drive include the following files. All of these files are loaded through the Flash Drive Prep Tool.

•An INI file (created by the NCR RealScan Scanner Flash Drive Prep Tool) that informs the scanner what tasks to perform.

•A firmware flash file for upgrading a scanner to a particular firmware version.

•A configurations file to configure a scanner to a particular end-user.
