Converting an EEPROM binary file

This feature upgrades or downgrades the EEPROM binary files. Binary files can be converted to another firmware level that comes from another scanner. Cross‑scanner and cross‑firmware level EEPROM conversions are permitted.

To an EEPROM binary file, follow these steps:

1. Do any of the following:
   • From the Feature Level window toolbar, select the Upgrade or downgrade EEPROM binary icon. For more information, refer to Application Components.
   • From the menu bar, select Tools > Convert EEPROM.
   • On the keyboard, press F3.

   The application displays the Convert EEPROM window.

   

2. Select the Browse icon to select a binary file to convert. The application displays the Open window.

   

3. Select the binary file, and then select Open. The application returns to the Convert EEPROM window.

   

4. Select the Target Scanner and the Target EEPROM version, and then select Proceed. The application displays the Save Converted EEPROM window.

   

5. Enter a file name and select Save. The application displays a confirmation message after the successful EEPROM conversion and saves the converted file into the default folder.
