Creating the alternate name of help text files

The alternate name of a help text file is the set of text preceding the .Help.txt extension in its file name. This is used when assigning the help text file to specific POS screens using the EOM application.

Retailers can create the alternate name of a new help text file as they prefer. However, for consistency purposes, NCR recommends retailers to generate the alternate name of a help text file according to the name of the screen it will be assigned to.

Retailers can refer to the Information Form Definitions parameter group to determine the name of specific screens in the POS application. Each record in this parameter group represents a specific POS screen. The Info Set Name value of each record can be assumed as the name of the record’s corresponding screen. For more information, refer to Information Form Definitions.

NCR recommends applying the following rules when generating the alternate name of a new help text file.
