Creating the alternate name of help text files

The alternate name of a help text file is the text immediately preceding the .Help.txt extension in the file name. The alternate name is used when assigning the help text file to specific POS screens using the EOM application.

The alternate name of a new help text file can be any term; however, for consistency purposes, NCR recommends that retailers choose a name according to the name of the screen to which it will be assigned.

Retailers can refer to the Information Form Definitions parameter group to determine the name of specific screens in the POS application. Each record in this parameter group represents a specific POS screen. The Info Set Name value of each record can be assumed as the name of the record’s corresponding screen. NCR recommends applying the following guidelines when choosing the alternate name of a new help text file.
