Understanding AMS Integration

NCR Advanced Marketing Solution (AMS) versions 6.4 and 7.x are the promotion engines compatible with the Advanced Store POS. AMS provides a consumer-specific and multichannel offer management solution to help retailers apply offers or promotions.

The POS uses the AMS Universal Engine (UE). The UE is installed after the Advanced Store POS Suite. Before installing the UE, download and install the latest updates and patches. The POS downloads files from the AMS server that enable the POS to apply manual and automatic discounts to a particular item or the entire transaction.

In the store’s back office, the retailers can also coordinate and manage offers, points, rewards, or incentive programs through the AMS Logix application. AMS Logix, or more commonly known as Logix, is the Web-based interface to AMS. Logix helps marketing professionals assemble offers with specific behaviors that manage customer and product data. By integrating AMS directly with the POS, retailers can track customer and purchase activities in real-time through Logix.
