POS user interface configurable text

Retailers can configure the POS UI text, such as screen titles, screen directions, error messages, and button labels that display on the POS screens. However, specific button labels, such as those for reason codes are still managed in the Enterprise Options Management (EOM) application and cannot be configured through the configurable text files. When modified, the text will not be affected after an upgrade of the retailer’s enterprise solution.

The Configurable Text feature offers the following advantages:

  • Provides the ability to customize text on the POS application without coding the customization changes.
  • Minimizes efforts associated with software upgrades and customizations.
  • Minimizes costs for software upgrades and customizations.

The list of configurable text is saved in comma-separated value (.csv) format. By default, base configurable text files are installed during the POS application installation. However, these base configurable text files must not be edited. Retailers should create copies of the files and edit the text using those files.
