Adding associate data

Associate data files may be manually uploaded to the database. The process for adding associate data to EOM involves copying the associate data files to a folder on the EOM Server. The system automatically detects a data file in the DownloadFiles folder, processes it, and then moves it to one of two folders. If the file was processed successfully, it is moved to the Success folder. If the process failed, or there was an error in the data file, the file is moved to the Failed folder.

Two data files are required for adding associate data to EOM:

  • Job Codes
  • Associates
Caution

These files must be processed one at a time and in the order specified.

To apply associate data, follow these steps:

  1. Verify that the NCR services are running.
  2. Copy the Job Code data file from the source folder to the DownloadFiles folder.
    Source (From)Destination (To)

Sample data files, if installed, are located in the following folder:

    %PROGRAMDATA%\NCR\AdvancedStore\Server\Install\Database\AssociateManagement\SampleBatchData

    The default destination folder is

    %PROGRAMDATA%\NCR\AdvancedStore\Server\DownloadFiles

  3. Check the destination folder to make sure it’s empty and the Job Code file is no longer in there.
  4. Repeat this procedure with the Associates data file.

To verify that the files were uploaded successfully, check the Success and Failed archive folders:

  • %PROGRAMDATA%\NCR\AdvancedStore\Server\DownloadFiles\SuccessArchive
  • %PROGRAMDATA%\NCR\AdvancedStore\Server\DownloadFiles\FailedArchive

The files should be in the SuccessArchive folder. For more information on associate data files, refer to Understanding Associate Data.

Note

When installing in a customer lab, Sample Data files may be used. These must be selected during the Application Server installation. The Sample Data files use CoreDb user roles. If using Active Directory for user role authentication, and using Sample Data files, make sure to edit the job codes to match the group names set up in Active Directory.
