Configuring the Technical User Password in Active Directory

The technical user credentials can also be configured when the POS application is set to use the Microsoft Active Directory for Windows. For more information, refer to Specifying the LDAP Settings.

The technical user’s password automatically resets when the password expires. The password can also be configured to never expire.

To set the technical user’s password to never expire in the Active Directory, follow these steps:

1. On the Active Directory Users and Computers window, select Users. The window displays the list of users.
2. Open the technical user’s user properties. The application displays the Properties window.
3. Select the Account tab.
4. In the Account options, select the Password never expires checkbox.
5. Select OK. The changes are applied to the technical user account.
