Understanding the POS navigational tools

This section describes the tools used to navigate the POS application user interface.

Back button

The back button is displayed throughout the POS transaction screens. Selecting Back displays the previous screen.

Keyboard shortcuts

Retailers can navigate through entry fields, information messages, and confirmation messages on the POS application using the keyboard shortcut keys described in the following table.

Keyboard shortcutDescription
Tab or Enter
  • Moves the cursor to the next field.
  • Submits a form when the cursor is on the last field of the form.
Shift+Tab
  • Moves the cursor to the previous field.
  • Moves the cursor back to the top when it reaches the bottom field.
Shift+EnterSubmits the information entered on the screen.
Enter
  • On an information and confirmation messages, continues the transaction.
  • On cash counting screens, moves to the next denomination after entering an amount. The highlight will return to the first denomination after entering an amount on the last denomination.
EscDiscontinues the transaction when pressed on an information or confirmation message.
