Configuring AMT

This chapter explains how to configure an NCR XR7 POS so it can be accessed remotely using Intel.s Active Management Technology (AMT).

Configuring the Terminal

1.Boot the terminal.

2.When you see the NCR logo press [Del] several times to start the BIOS Setup Utility.

4. Enable Intel AMT.

a.Highlight Intel AMT and press [Enter].

b.Select Enabled.

c.Press [Enter].

6.Press F10 and [Enter] to Save and Exit.

7.After the system reboots the Intel ® Management Engine BIOS Extension Main Menu is displayed.

8.Highlight MEBx Login and press [Enter].

9.Enter the [password] >> [Enter].

Note:  The first time this program is run you must use the default password, admin (lower case).

At the prompt, enter the new password (write it down to remember). The password must contain upper, lower, symbol, & numeric characters.

Example:  Ncr@2011

You must enter the password a second time for verification.

12.Enter Yes to activate the network interface.

13.Press [ESC] >> [ESC] >> Y to exit the Intel ® Management BIOS Extension and reboot the system.

14.The terminal should now be accessible using its IP address.

Note:  The BIOS Hotkey Pressed setting is reset to Disabled automatically when you exit AMT.
