Installing the Advanced Store Database Server
This section describes the steps in installing and configuring the NCR Advanced Store Enterprise Solutions Database Server.
Concepts
This section describes the basic concepts about the NCR Advanced Store Enterprise Solutions Database Server.
NCR Advanced Store Enterprise Database Server
The Database Server uses the Microsoft SQL Server application to control and manage its database solutions. This server holds the data accessed by the applications that are running on the server components of the Enterprise Solution. For an enterprise configuration, NCR recommends installing SQL Server on a dedicated machine designated as the NCR Advanced Store Enterprise Database Server.
Advanced Store Databases
The AS databases are created on the Database Server by running a program called the NCR Data Setup Utility from the Messaging Server. For more information on running NCR Data Setup, refer to Creating the Enterprise Databases.
NCR Data Setup should be run one time only.
NCR recommends creating the databases on the Database Server from a remote server, such as the Messaging Server.
The connection between the installed databases and the Enterprise Servers is established through the database connection strings’ details.
By default, the NCR Data Setup utility installs the following databases:
- Associate
- CoreDb
- NCRWO_EJ
- NCRWO_FlexWikiSqlStore
- NCRWO_LogDB
- NCRWO_Options
- NCRWO_Reports
- NCRWO_Transactions
