Installing the Advanced Store POS Application

This publication describes the steps for installing the Advanced Store (AS) POS application integrated to an Enterprise Solution. To complete the Advanced Store POS Enterprise retail setup, complete the following procedures:

  1. Confirm hardware requirements.
  2. Confirm software requirements.
  3. Install the AS POS base application.
  4. Configure peripherals and devices connected to the POS terminal.
  5. Provide customization for the AS POS base application to a specific retailer.

This publication provides details on software requirements and outlines the procedures for installing the POS application, and performing post-installation configuration.

When installing on a different operating system, some screens and directories may differ from those described in this publication.

Hardware requirements

Hardware requirements are outlined in the Advanced Store Order and Configuration Guide. To determine the best configuration for the store, and for more information on other supported components with Professional Services (PS) certification and integration efforts, consult with an NCR Representative.

For complete hardware configuration information, refer to the appropriate Hardware Solution Pack documents that are packaged with each hardware component.

Note

To add profiles for peripherals such as printers and scanners, use the NCR RSM tool. For more information, refer to Chapter 9, “RSM Devices,” in the NCR Retail Systems Manager Software User’s Guide (B005-0000-1518).
