Printing tax stamps
To comply with local business requirements, retailers can print tax stamps on the receipt when the net amount in a sales transaction meets a specified threshold amount. This feature applies to cash and gift card transactions only.
This feature is available to the Japanese market only.
Prerequisites
The tax stamp feature is dependent on the following conditions:
- The retailer has modified the POS settings to match their region and language.
- The retailer has modified the parameters specified below to apply to their market and region.

Configurable features
The POS application can be configured with the following features.
- Define the three-character currency code for this tender. Refer to the following option:
- Tender Definitions > Currency Code
- Designate the tax calculation method on the POS. Refer to the following option:
- Tax Properties > Tax Calculation Method
- Determine whether a tax stamp is printed on the customer sales receipt. Refer to the following option:
- Tax Properties > Print Tax Stamp
- Determine whether to display the item’s Make Taxable or Make Non-Taxable button. Refer to the following option:
- Tax Override Setup > Manual Item Taxability
- Display or hide the Make Tax Exempt button on the Sale Main Menu screen in the POS application. Refer to the following option:
- Tax Override Setup > Transaction Tax Exempt
- Specify the default language (LCID or culture name). Refer to the following option:
- General > Default Language (LCID or cultureName)
After deploying changes to this parameter to the POS, reboot the relevant POS terminals for the changes to take effect.
