Sharing and retrieving quick menu data
Quick menus can be shared among the POS terminals in the store. This function enables the other POS terminals to access the menu maintenance functions of quick menus and items on the POS application. This function also enables associates to sell quick menu items to customers. For more information about selling quick menu items, refer to Selling quick menu items.
When quick menus and quick menu items are modified on a POS terminal, the other POS terminals in the store don’t automatically reflect the changes. Perform the following functions after modifying quick menus and quick menu items to enable the POS terminals in the store to reflect the changes.
Sharing quick menus
To share quick menus with the other POS terminals in the store, follow these steps:
- On the Menu Maintenance screen, select Share Menu. The application displays a confirmation message.
- Select Yes. The application displays the Sign On screen.
Retrieving shared quick menus
After sharing quick menus, the other POS terminals in the store can retrieve the shared quick menu data.
This action reverts the local changes applied to the quick menus and quick menu items using the menu maintenance functions on the POS application.
To retrieve the store-shared quick menu data on another POS terminal in the store, follow these steps:
- On the Menu Maintenance screen, select Restore Quick Menu. The POS application displays an information message that the changes applied to quick menus using the POS terminal will be lost.
- Select Yes. The POS application redisplays the Menu Maintenance screen with the store-shared quick menus and quick menu items.
