Automatically printing custom reports

When enabled, the POS application can automatically print specific custom reports upon opening or closing the store.

To print custom reports, ensure that the following conditions are met:

  • The store’s enterprise servers supports the creation and printing of custom reports. For more information, refer to Generating custom store reports.
  • A record in the Automatic Report Printing parameter group has been created and enabled for the specific custom report to be printed. For more information, refer to Automatic Report Printing.
  • The Windows printer property in the DeviceManager.xml file has been enabled. For more information, refer to Configuring the Device Manager File.
Configurable features

The POS application can be configured with the following features.

  • Configure the following automatic report printing options:
    • Create a corresponding automatic printing parameter record for a specific custom report.
    • Enable the automatic printing parameter record for the custom report.
    • Configure the name of the report as displayed on the POS application.
    • Determine the number of transactions that will be printed on the report.
    • Determine whether the POS application automatically prints the report upon opening or closing the store.
    • Determine the time period of the report to be printed.
    • Specify the delay time the POS application waits until automatically printing after opening or closing the store.
