Understanding the receipt footer

The sample AS POS receipt footer below contains the following information.

The POS can be configured to print custom signature labels on the audit copy of the return receipt. In the example below, the POS application was modified to print the Manager and Customer signature labels. Refer to the following sections:

Understanding the receipt bar code format

The receipt bar code, which is printed in the receipt footer, is a unique identifier for the transaction.

The bar code consists of 34 digits using the following format, ordered from left to right:

  • an 8-digit Store Number
  • an 8-digit Terminal Number
  • an 8-digit Transaction Number
  • a 6-digit Transaction Date
  • a 2-digit Qualifier Code
  • a 1-digit Receipt Bar Code Type Identifier
    Note

    The receipt barcode type identifier is configurable. For more information, refer to Receipt Bar Code Type Identifier.

    For example, a value of "1" for the receipt bar code type identifier represents a gift receipt.
