Handling unused trigger codes

Unused trigger codes refer to trigger codes with no associated offers in the store’s AMS Logix system. By default, the POS does not display error messages when unused trigger codes are applied to the transaction. The POS processes the unused trigger code and applies a null discount to the transaction.

To prevent the POS application from applying unused trigger codes to transactions, the following conditions must be met in the order specified:

  1. Ensure that the AMS Logix configuration for Unused Coupons is set to remove unused coupons at the end of transactions. For more information, refer to the Advanced Marketing Solution (AMS) Documentation (BCC5-0000-5209).
  2. Delete all the Offer_[Logix Offer ID].lgx files from the %PROGRAMDATA%\NCR_AMS\Data directory.
  3. Restart the Universal Engine IO Server service in Windows services.
  4. Enable the POS to recognize unused trigger codes. For more information, refer to Universal Engine Properties.

Once the above conditions are met, the POS displays an error message when unused trigger codes are entered or scanned and prevents null discount offers from being applied to a transaction.
