Assigning help text files to screens
Retailers can use the Information Form Definitions parameter group in the EOM application to assign a help text file to a specific POS screen. Each record in this parameter group represents a specific screen in the POS application. For more information, refer to Information Form Definitions.
- When using the EOM application, help text files can only be assigned to screens collecting customer information. Screens collecting item or transaction information cannot be assigned with help text files.
- Only the CustomerLookupView pre-set help text file can be assigned to Information Set screens. The rest of the help text files created upon POS installation cannot be assigned to Information Form screens when using the EOM application. For more information, refer to Pre-set help text files .
This procedure uses the alternate name of the help text file. For more information about determining the alternate name of a help text file, refer to the following section.
Determining the alternate name of a help text file
When using the EOM application to assign a help text file to a POS screen, the alternate name of the help text file is required. The alternate name of a help text file is the text immediately preceding the .Help.txt extension in the help text file name.
