Entering customer information

Some states permit retailers to ask for e-mail addresses, customer numbers, or postal codes for marketing purposes. The POS application can be configured to display the Email Address, Telephone Number, and Zip Code screens. The customer information can be entered through one of the following:

  • Using the POS application
  • Using compatible PIN pad devices
  • Scanning the customer ID

When connected to a payment solution, the POS application enables the customer to enter e-mail and other information on compatible PIN pad devices. The POS application can then display an e-mail confirmation message when changes have been made. The customer can also select to receive marketing e-mails using the PIN pad device.
