Enrolling Customers

When the POS system is connected to a CRM/loyalty system or a marketing solution software, associates can enroll loyalty members directly from the POS application. Retailers can use the following methods to enroll loyalty members:

  • By using the standard customer enrollment feature of the POS application. For more information, refer to Processing standard customer enrollment.
  • By selling loyalty membership to customers. This method is supported by the POS application’s alternate customer enrollment feature, Instant Membership. For more information, refer to Processing instant membership enrollments.
    Note

    Enabling the Instant Membership feature on the POS application disables the standard customer enrollment feature.

Loyalty members can be added to sales and exchange transactions. When the POS is integrated with Verifone Point payment solution, the customer can enter the enrollment information using the PIN pad while the cashier adds items to the sales transaction.

Note

When an enrollment is in progress through the PIN pad, the POS features that require the PIN pad cannot be accessed. The cashier can either wait for the customer to complete the enrollment or cancel the enrollment to reclaim the PIN pad.
