Troubleshooting
Occasionally a problem may occur with the NCR 7879. If this happens, check the following.

Do This First
Perform the following before calling for service.
1. | If there are Lights on, identify their meaning – Scan Advisor and Power Bar. |
2. | Verify that there is proper AC power supplied to the Power Supply, if included. |
3. | Reset the NCR 7879 by removing and then supplying power. |
4. | Verify that all cables are properly connected. |
5. | Verify that the Scan Windows are clean. |
6. | If the NCR 7879 includes a scale, verify that there are no obstructions to the Top Plate movement. |
7. | Set the scale to zero by touching the Scale Zero button. |
8. | Verify that the host terminal is functioning properly. |

Does Not Read Any Labels
Poor Scanning Performance
Data Not Sent To Host
Scale Problems
Remote Scale Display Is Blank
