Merchandise Menus

The Merchandise Menus parameter group can be used to create merchandise menus. For more information about using this feature, refer to the following sections:

The following table describes the Merchandise Menus options.

Note

This is a multi-record option group. Records can be added as necessary.

Active Yes/No

Determines whether or not a merchandise menu is active.

Note

Once the value is set to Yes, the merchandise menu remains active, even after it is set back to No. To remove the merchandise menu, disable the Merchandise Menu button. For more information, refer to Menu Buttons.

Button Columns A numeric value from one to 8. Specifies the number of button columns displayed in the merchandise menu.
Button Rows A numeric value from one to 8. Specifies the number of button rows displayed on the merchandise menu.
Grid Style

One of the following values:

  • Display Image or Label (None)
  • Display Image, Label and 2nd Line of Text (Thirds)

Defines the layout of the information displayed on a merchandise menu button.

  • Display Image or Label (None)—the POS displays either the image or the label of the merchandise menu on its button. If the image is not available, the label is displayed.
  • Display Image, Label and 2nd Line of Text (Thirds)—the POS displays the image, label, and a second line of text of the merchandise menu on its button.

Menu ID A numeric value from zero to 999999 Specifies the unique ID of the menu.
Note

Once the record is created, this option cannot be modified again.

Menu Name An alphanumeric value from zero to 40 characters

Defines the merchandise menu name. This parameter is used to identify the parent merchandise menu of the merchandise menu buttons defined in the Merchandise Menu Buttons parameter group. For more information, refer to Merchandise Menu Buttons.

This parameter is the record's key.

Default Data

The Merchandise Menus parameter group has a default record with the menu name Main Menu. The POS application uses the configuration of the Main Menu record to display the Merchandise Menu screen. The Active option of the Main Menu record must be set to Yes. Activating this record enables the POS application to display the Merchandise Menu screen.

Caution

Do not modify the Main Menu record. Modifying this record can cause the merchandise menu feature of the POS application to malfunction.
