Enabling the quick menu feature

To enable the merchandise menus feature, ensure the following conditions are met:

  • Enable the Menu Maintenance button on the POS application. Refer to the Enable Menu Maintenance Button option in Menu Buttons.
  • Set the Active option of the Main Menu record in the Quick Menus parameter is set to Yes. The Advanced Store solution uses the configuration of this record to display the Menu Maintenance screen on the POS application. Refer to Quick Menus.
  • Create at least one active quick menu in the store. Refer to Creating quick menus.
  • Create POS buttons for quick menu items. Refer to Creating quick menu items.
  • Enable the Quick Menu button on the Sale Main Menu screen. This enables the POS application to access quick menus and quick menu items in sales transactions. Refer to Enable Quick Menu Button option in Menu Buttons.

Authorized associates can create and configure quick menus and quick menu items using the following methods:

  • Using the menu maintenance options in The POS application. For more information, refer to the following sections:
  • Using the configurable options in the EOM application. The following are the parameter groups used to create and configure quick menus and quick menu items:
    • Quick Menus—this is a multi-record parameter group that enables retailers to create quick menus
    • Quick Menu Buttons—this is a multi-record parameter group that enables retailers to create POS buttons for quick menus and quick menu items.
    Note By default, the Quick Menu Buttons parameter group has an existing record with the button ID 1. This record can be configured as a quick menu or a quick menu item. Configure the record as preferred.
