Locating Items
The Item Locate feature can be used to locate an item in inventory either in the local store or in other stores. This feature requires the POS application to be integrated with a third-party Inventory Management System (IMS).
There are two methods to locating the stores where a selected item is available:
- By using the Locate Item option in the item-related option on the Item Lookup Result screen. For more information, refer to Locating an item from Item Lookup results.
- By using the Locate Item option on the Item Lookup screen. For more information, refer to Locating an item from Item Lookup.
After locating the items, retailers can do one of the following:
- Place items in a particular as on hold for pickup. For more information, refer to Holding an item for pickup.
- Obtain a copy of the item location details. For more information, refer to Getting item location details.
- Send the ordered items to a specific address. For more information, refer to Shipping an ordered item.
